Family Friendly Hotels at Manila Airport: Kids' Clubs, Pools, Connecting Rooms and the Walk from Terminal 3
Manila is a family airport. Balikbayan reunions, overseas workers coming home for Christmas, Filipino families flying to the islands at dawn, and foreign families breaking a long-haul journey: NAIA sees all of them, and the Newport hotels across Runway Manila have adapted with kids’ clubs, children’s pools and rooms for eight. This guide compares the eight hotels on this site for travelling with children, from the arrival walk to the breakfast table.
The arrival walk
Seven of the eight hotels are reached on foot from Terminal 3 through Runway Manila, the 220-metre air-conditioned footbridge from the arrivals level, open 24 hours, with lifts and escalators at both ends and moving walkways along it, so a stroller and a trolley of cases cross without a step. Luggage carts and golf carts are available at the bridge, and Newport World Resorts runs a 24-hour shuttle at the Newport end for families who would rather ride the last few hundred metres. Allow 10 to 15 minutes from the arrivals hall to a lobby with children, after the 45 to 90 minutes an international arrival takes. From Terminals 1 and 2 the hotels are a 15 to 25 minute Grab ride, which is also how you reach the Nobu Hotel Manila.
The hotels, child by child

S Kitchen’s buffet has a children’s corner. Five to ten minutes from the terminal.

Savoy Hotel Manila: 684 rooms mean family rooms are usually available at short notice, with a pool and cabanas for rooms sold with pool access, airport-view rooms that children love, and a weekend buffet at Savoy Cafe. Five minutes from the terminal and usually the lowest price for a pool.
Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City: the cheapest beds, free breakfast for everyone from 6:00 am, queen rooms with sofa beds, coin laundry for the mid-trip wash, a convenience store and free parking, but no pool. Ten minutes on foot or the hotel’s free van to the bridge.
Hotel Okura Manila: the quiet choice, with children up to 12 free when sharing with two adults, Hinoki-yu rooms whose cypress tubs children remember, and a rooftop pool; the health club and fitness centre are 16 and over.
Nobu Hotel Manila: for Terminal 1 and 2 families, with the infinity pool and DreamPlay by DreamWorks, City of Dreams’ indoor play centre, in the same complex; the casino floors are adults only and the resort is a drive from every terminal.
Arrival nights and early flights
Flights from Europe and the Middle East land late in the evening and the dawn wave to the islands leaves from 5 am, so most family stays are short. Book a room with breakfast from 6:00 am (Holiday Inn Express, Belmont, Savoy) or a bakery (Marriott) for the early flight; ask for connecting rooms at booking, not at check-in; and for a Terminal 2 domestic departure the next morning allow for the hourly inter-terminal shuttle or a Grab across the airport. Our day rooms guide covers long daytime gaps with children, and the typhoon season guide the rainy-season planning that families in particular should read.
