NAIA Day Rooms: Capsules by the Block, Hotel Day Use and Early Check-in for Long Layovers
A twelve-hour gap between a Terminal 3 arrival and an evening departure, a flight cancelled to tomorrow morning, a 2 am landing with a hotel booked for tonight: Manila produces all three regularly, and each one calls for a bed for part of a day rather than a night. This guide compares the in-terminal transit hotel, the hotels across Runway Manila and the lounges, by the hours you have.
The Wings Transit Hotel: rooms by the block
The one product sold by the hour at NAIA is The Wings Transit Hotel and Spa on level 4 of Terminal 3, landside in the concession area, open 24 hours. Capsules and twin rooms are sold in 7.5-hour and 15-hour blocks: in 2026 a capsule is ₱1,800 for 7.5 hours and ₱2,800 for 15 hours, a twin room ₱3,600 and ₱5,200. Each block includes a meal pass per person (drinks included), a shower with amenities and a hygiene kit, storage for two large bags and a carry-on, Wi-Fi and the business lounge; the spa is extra. Book from 24 hours to 60 days ahead, or walk up if there is space. For four to seven hours between flights at Terminal 3 it is the simplest option in the airport, and it is landside, so passengers changing terminals can use it too.
Hotel day use across the bridge
None of the Newport hotels publishes a day rate, which is unusual for an airport cluster this large; what they sell is early check-in and late check-out, as paid add-ons or inside packages, and a willingness at the desk to release a room early when occupancy allows. The Belmont Hotel Manila’s Rest and Jet package bundles early check-in, late check-out, breakfast, wellness access and two nights of parking into one rate, which covers an arrival morning and a departure evening in one booking. For a daytime gap of eight hours or more, book a standard night at the Savoy, the Belmont or the Holiday Inn Express: check-in is at 2:00 pm, bags can be left at the desk from the morning, the pool and gym are yours from check-in, and the walk back across Runway Manila is five to ten minutes. At the full-service hotels the same booking adds a spa: Quan Spa at the Marriott, Shine Spa at the Sheraton, the SORA rooftop pool and health club at the Okura.
Lounges for the short gap
For two to four hours airside at Terminal 3, a lounge is cheaper than any bed: the A Lounge and PAGSS take Priority Pass, DragonPass, LoungeKey and Philippine bank cards (PAGSS Terminal 3 took card access away in May 2025 and is business class or paid walk-in only; the A Lounge is listed to close on 1 September 2026, so check), and the First Meridian Lounge has sleep pods and showers for business-class passengers of eight carriers. Full details, hours and access rules are in our lounges guide.
Which option for how long
- 2 to 4 hours, airside: a lounge; a capsule only if you need to lie flat.
- 4 to 7 hours, any terminal: a Wings capsule block, or a Terminal 3 lounge for the first part and a meal at Newport Mall.
- 8 to 12 hours, daytime: a one-night booking at a Newport hotel used by day, bags at the desk from the morning, pool in the afternoon.
- Overnight, 6 to 10 hours: a hotel across the bridge; see sleeping in the airport for the capsule-versus-room arithmetic.
- Cancelled flight: book the room before you leave the airline counter; see the typhoon season guide.
Terminals 1 and 2
Neither has a transit hotel or hourly rooms. The lounges at Terminal 1 (PAGSS, marhaba, A Lounge, Mabuhay) have showers for eligible passengers, and the Nobu Hotel Manila is a 10-minute Grab away for a one-night booking used by day. The free inter-terminal shuttle reaches the Wings Transit Hotel at Terminal 3 in 15 to 25 minutes if you have an onward boarding pass.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do the Newport hotels sell day-use rooms?
Not as a published product. None of the seven hotels across Runway Manila lists an hourly or day rate on its site in 2026; they sell early check-in and late check-out as add-ons or in packages (the Belmont's Rest and Jet includes both), and for a daytime gap of eight hours or more a standard one-night booking used by day is the normal workaround. Ask the front desk; rooms vacated in the morning can often be released early.
Where can I shower during a layover at NAIA?
At the Wings Transit Hotel on level 4 of Terminal 3 (included in every block), in the PAGSS, A and First Meridian lounges airside at Terminal 3, in the Terminal 1 lounges, and in the free OFW Lounge for departing overseas workers. The Newport hotel gyms and pools are for registered guests.
What is the cheapest way to rest for four hours?
A Wings capsule block (₱1,800 for 7.5 hours in 2026) or a lounge pass with a Priority Pass or DragonPass card. A hotel room only beats them once the gap passes about eight hours or you want a pool and a proper bed.
Can I store luggage while I rest?
The Wings Transit Hotel stores two large bags and a carry-on per guest. Every Newport hotel stores bags for registered guests before check-in and after check-out, which is how a one-night booking covers a whole day.
